Chittoor Kottaram is a former royal residence of the Maharaja of Cochin during his visits to the Chittoor temple during the days when Chittoor was an island. Chittoor Kottaram is a single key hotel, which means there are no guests but you and your companions.You need to enter barefoot (and stay that way).In keeping with the tradition of the place, food served is strict vegetarian and cooked in accordance to tradition. Lunch in the dining room is served on traditional banana leaves. But Dinner is a more indulgent affair. The palace has only 2 rooms.The furnishings too tread a fine line between comfort and refinement. Natural and traditional styles are the norm here.
